Done!
There was a radio interview today in Timmins with Mr. John Curly, counsellor for the City of Timmins and it was mainly about protecting the white moose. It scared quite a few residents and I received phone calls after phone calls on the matter. They fear that Timmins is trying to get the white moose at Cedar Meadows and we'll lose our chance to better our community and boost its economy. Let me tell you what I've said. I told them not to panic that we had talked and you were willing to look at other options to save them. Some were even talking about calling him and so on but I discouraged them from doing so because who knows what will happen - I don't want to burn our bridges. I said that depending on what his intentions are, this might be exactly what we need to get the MNR motivated and told them that I would contact him to discuss the matter. I didn't get a hold of him so I will try again tomorrow.
Don't worry, I'm not completely closed minded to your option of building a park for them, I've thought about it quite a bit and I think it's not a bad idea say, if a mother was killed and we were to p.u. the calf or something like that. Anyways, it will all have to be talked about as a whole.
In the meantime, Shelley Martel (Provincial Rep) is coming on Thursday night to meet the residents and talk about any issue the town has. I will attend that meeting to discuss the Ambulance issue but I will also talk to her about the White Moose. Maybe she'll have resources to give me, I'll fill you in.
I've talked to Shirley, Chair of the Metis Pathfinders today and we discussed the White Moose, she was one of the residents that was concerned. I told her the situation about putting ourselves on the map. She said Lonnie (Chamber) talked to the Metis Pathfinders about it and they are all for it and then said she's never heard anything since. I told her about the Chamber having to wait for LSB's answer but still none. She will talk to the large organisation for the Metis (she has a meeting at the end of the month) to see what we can do outside the LSB since they are no help and get back to me. Again, I'll let you know.
Bye for now.
